Exhibition „Art in Nature” – Photoes by Gunārs Dukšte

Exhibition „Art in Nature” will be viewable in Turaida Museum Reserve from April 5 to April 25.  There will be exhibited photoes taken by Gunārs Dukšte form hot-air balloon for twenty years flying above homeland – Latvia. Gunārs Dukšte says: „I have been carried away by winds from the North Pole to Australia, from Japan to Mexico, over the mountain-ranges of Alps, over the borders of many countries and numerous wonders of the world. Though, my way always starts and ends in Latvia - the most beautiful place in the world. Today I open a chapter in my diary – here beside. In my visual notes you will find familiar, but  hardly recognizable places and places without denominations, but with sonorous names – Runtiņš, Matiņš, Jodas, Punga, Viešas, Ummurītis, Veiži, Rustēgs, Dauda ... and everything here beside – on the banks of the River Gauja in Sigulda and neighbouring regions, created by the Great artist  - Nature, retouched or damaged by Homo sapiens. I like to look at each place and landscape within picture frame, because apart from my wishes, the photoes encompass my identity.”

The exhibition was created in cooperation with Sigulda Regional Council and Turaida Museum Reserve with support of Gunārs Janaitis, Juris Seilis, Jānis Bormanis, Niāra Vīndedze, Daiga Grigale and Inga Ābele.

The exhibition is open from April 5 to April 25 on weekdays from 10:00a.m. – 4:00p.m., on Easter holidays – April 6, 7, 8, 9  from 10:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. in the New Living House of Estate Manager.
