Have a good time in the Turaida Museum Reserve!


During Christmas and New year holidays the Turaida Museum Reserve is open daily without days off from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Open-air exhibitions are available every day in the Historical Centre of Turaida, on the Church hill with Memorial to the Rose of Turaida, in the Folk-song park and Hill of Dainas.

The exhibitions in the Stone castle are also open every day and they inform about historical events from the 13th to 18th century. Each visitor is kindly welcome to climb up the Main Tower and and enjoy the magnificent view to the ancient valley of the River Gauja.

As a gift to our visitors in the festive period will be offered exhibitions which are usually open only in summer season:

From December 20 to January 11 will be open the Turaida Church with interior and exhibition about history of the Church and Church hill.

Christmas services:

December 24 at 5:00 p.m. December 26 at 11:00 a.m.

Services in the Turaida church are led by pastor Didzis Seržāns on Sundays at 11:00 a.m.

From December 26 to January 11 will be open Gardener’s House with exhibition “The Gauja Livs in the Cultural History of Latvia.”

Turaida Smithy is expecting its visitors. The balcksmith has prepared all the necessary things to cast pewter into water and foretell the New Year’s events or to forge a coin – your talisman.

Café “Mr. Biskvīts” invites you to enjoy fresh pies and hot beverages and drinks. Open from December 30 to January 11.
