Smithy


Smithy built in the end of the 18th century as distillery, which was later rebuilt in a smithy. You can watch the practical utilization of smith’s tools, which are exhibited in the room and forge yourself  souvenirs – coins! Exhibition – woodworker’s workshop Exhibited tools, used by woodworker to make hoops, sticks and household objects. Exhibition – wooldressing, weaving and knitting in Turaida Estate in the 19th century Exhibited loom, spinning-wheel, winder and other wool processing tools as well as mittens, socks and bedspread with characteristic of Turaida ornaments. You can try knitting and weaving yourself. Exhibition – „Story about Turaida Estate” Gives insight in the mode of  life and managerial system of Turaida Esate in the end of  the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century as well as reflects the rhythm of peasant’s work during seasons.
