The ruins are depicted from the south-east of the castle yard. It was envisaged to include all notable buildings in the
drawing, except, the new residential building of the Turaida landlord. The perspective and proportions are not considered in the
picture, however, this amateur view is valuable as cognitive material, because it shows specific details – windows, stairs, etc.
which can not be seen in other pictures. The drawing is included in the album – „Archaeological sites of Vidzeme, Estonia and
Courland,” published in 1829.
